Sit upright on a stable chair or wheelchair with your back supported and a table in front at elbow height.
Place your forearm and hand onto the table, palm facing down and spread your fingers wide.
Ensure your wrist is as straight as possible.
Using your other hand, work along the line of each finger to stretch the finger out from base to tip to improve the contact with the surface.
Place a small rolled towel under the palm if unable to achieve a flat hand comfortably.
Keeping your elbow straight, gently push the heel of your hand into the surface.
